Last year I did this group challenge and I’m excited to being this group challenge structure again that I think will be a new approach to many for the end of the year! I think this time of year many think, “Well the holidays are just around the corner, so I might as well put my fitness goals off until next year” but I think that after summer and before the holidays there’s a perfect 6 week gap to really make some progress towards cutting and getting closer to fitness goals! The only holiday that will be tackled during the first 6 weeks will be Halloween, but I think in comparison to Thanksgiving and Christmas parties, it’s an easy challenge to handle especially with a strong community and a coach in your corner!!

Cutting Fat Before the Holidays:

The goal for the first 6 weeks is to focus on fat loss, which means that you will be in a calorie deficit. The calories, macros, and amount of the deficit will be different for everyone as everyone has different bodies and may have different goals.

Being in a calorie deficit is a challenge because you will have to be really mindful of your food choices and in making sure that they fit your macro goals! And although I will give you a lot of information to help with knowing how to get foods to fit your macros, meal prep tips, and Macro Friendly recipes; I’m excited there will also be a community for this challenge so you can read others and share your recipes and tips in the group as well! 

Don’t want to cut fat but want to join the group to learn more about macros and balance and also work on getting stronger with a solid workout routine? That’s totally fine too! You can let me know that you just want to be at maintenance calories during the challenge!

What Makes this Group Challenge Different?

The second 6 week phase of this challenge is what I think makes the Group Challenge so different but also so realistic and special! Because instead of just doing a 6 week cut and then going into the holidays and possibly gaining the fat you lost back OR even gaining more than you lost, the goal will be to support each other to maintain the progress that was made in the first 6 weeks throughout the holidays before possibly doing another cut in the New Year. 

Finally ENJOY the holidays in moderation without the stress of ruining your progress!

I understand that for some they feel like “fat loss” should always be the goal but it’s important to be realistic and I typically always suggest for the holidays to be a time of maintenance so that you can truly enjoy the season by having higher calories to enjoy treats and drinks!

And also, taking the expectation and anxiety off of the scale (since the goal will just be maintenance) can be SO helpful in just feeling less stressed and enjoying the holidays even more! But even maintenance calories can be challenging during the holidays which is why, again, I’m excited for this group! Sharing macro friendly holiday recipes to bring to parties and party tips to help everyone truly enjoy themselves without guilt or without feeling like they overdid it will be a big part of this phase!

You Choose Where You Work Out!

This challenge will have Three Phases of Training Programs which can be done at home (a set of dumbbells & exercise ball will be needed) or in the gym. The exercises have a foundation of building muscle which will help you burn MORE CALORIES AND MORE FAT! There will also be suggested HIIT cardio that’s optional depending on your goal and time available to workout.
